Regal Black Lightning RD-52, $695 ($895
list) Go
to saga's site to see the Guitar Player Review and see pictures. The
Guitar Player review essentially said that it is an instrument "offering
much of the magic" of those costing in the $3,000 price range, I agree.
Saga's factory blurb follows:
Heres a new Regal Dobro with plenty of power
and drive to cut through any traffic! There is no better value in a
professional quality squareneck Dobro on the market today. Features include a
Quarterman cone, a feature not found on any other production dobro as standard
equipment, and a 1930s Vintage California-style body shape. With the Regal
Black Lightning...RD-52...you are sure to hear the thunder!

1939 Vega C-66 $1050 By
the time Elmer Stromberg started building guitars in Boston, the Vega Company
had been making instruments in that city for over a generation. One of the
preeminent banjo manufacturers, Vega introduced its first archtop in 1933, and
continued making top-flight hand carved instruments for several decades. The
Vega C-66 was an upmarket model equivalent to the Gibson L-12 or Epiphone
Broadway, and priced accordingly. This instrument is an outstanding example
from their prime years, with a solid handcarved bookmatched spruce top and
handsome tiger flame maple back and sides, and a really interesting wooden
tailpiece
.

IN VERY GOOD SHAPE FOR
50 YEARS OLD! HAS A REALLY NICE TONE AND EXCELLENT
NECK. USUAL WEAR, NO REPAIRS, HAS A REPLACEMENT SET OF sCHALLER TUNERS
(AN UPGRADE AS FAR AS TUNERS GO!).
A VERY NICE GUITAR AND ONE WE DON'T GET VERY OFTEN! THE UPPER FRETS (OVER THE
BODY) HAVE BEEN FILED (BY SOME FOOL WHO DIDN'T KNOW WHAT A TRUSS ROD WAS FOR)
TO GAIN LOWER ACTION. SINCE ONE DOESN'T USUALLY PLAY THOSE FRETS ON A
NON-CUTAWAY GUITAR ANYWAY, IT REALLY DOESN'T HURT THE PLAYABILITY. THE FRETS
IN GENERAL ARE GETTING A BIT ON THE LOW SIDE, NOT GROOVED, JUST LOW, THEY'VE
PROBABLY BEEN MILLED, SO AT SOME POINT THEY'LL NEED TO BE REPLACED. I WOULD
CHARGE ONLY $80 (TO THE BUYER OF THIS GUITAR) ANYTIME IT WAS DONE
KAY/NATIONAL STYLE RESOPHONIC W/NATIONAL BISCUIT BRIDGE RESONATOR $450,NO NAME BUT SURELY IS A KAY WITH NATIONAL RESOPHONIC PARTS! (NATIONAL METAL PARTS, BODY AND NECK MADE BY KAY, WHO MADE BODIES FOR NATIONAL!) great tone and volume!! biscuit bridge type SOLD resonator. it was a spanish neck but due to poor neck angle it's now a lap model, and it's probably better this way anyway since the neck wasn't exactly slim! has the perfect nut extender over the nut. this one really does have an especially ballsy tone, as good as any national PROBABLY BECAUSE IS IS A NATIONAL)!

Here's an interesting quote from Godin "At
first glance the 'Jazz' has a familiar look with its single cutaway chambered
body adorned with traditional F-holes and the Godin GJN1 mini humbucker at the
top of the fingerboard. However the slotted headstock and the preamp controls on
the upper bout may be the first clues towards discovering that this isn't your
grandfather's jazz guitar." Our guitar teacher played it and really likes
the neck and the sound! (not to mention all the extra goodies).
GRETSCH
ARCHTOP ACOUSTIC $550 Nicely Refinished! SOLD
An all solid, flame maple back and sides, guitar! Has a really nice warm and
bright sound. The neck is really straight and a bit on the chunky side, if one
wanted a thin neck, that could easily be done. Judging by the filled holes,
there was a different bridge and tailpiece at some point. SOLD
